Australia’s Respect at Work legislation has reignited our national commitment to workplace safety, fairness, and inclusion. Yet, for many organisations, particularly across the healthcare, government and community sectors, embedding these changes into everyday culture requires more than policy updates. It demands capability uplift, confident leadership, and inclusive training that resonates with real-world challenges.
CDP’s Respect@Work training upskills individuals across organisations, from board members to executive leaders, frontline workers and volunteers, to understand their legal obligations through a lens of inclusivity.
Why Respect@Work Training Matters
Respect@Work is not just about compliance, it’s about culture. The 2022 amendments to the Sex Discrimination Act and the Australian Human Rights Commission Act introduced a positive duty on employers to prevent sexual harassment, sex-based harassment, and discrimination in the workplace. Everyone plays a role in upholding this standard, and our Respect@Work program empowers participants to:
- Recognise workplace misconduct and psychological harm;
- Understand key legal responsibilities;
- Promote prevention and early intervention strategies;
- Champion inclusive leadership and upstander behaviour.
Tailored, Trauma-Informed and Evidence-Based
Our Respect@Work training is designed to meet each organisation where it is today. It starts with a pre-engagement discovery session to solidify key messaging, address any recent grievances, challenges, or initiatives undertaken, and ensure integration into the training language and strategy. Aligned with the current organisational landscape, our approach is practical, fully customisable, and grounded in neuroscience and Australia’s legal frameworks.
Delivered face-to-face or via blended learning, our workshops use sector-specific case studies, tools, resources and self-reflection exercises to deepen engagement and shift workplace culture.
Planning Your Organisation’s Annual Respect@Work Training?
We work with organisations to deepen learning and participant connection to training, standing CDP’s approach to Respect@Work apart from off-the-shelf, one-size-fits-all modules undertaken online.
From Awareness to Action in Four Key Modules
Our four-part program builds capability through four interactive modules:
- Understanding Respect@Work: What harassment, bullying and discrimination look like, and the legal obligations that apply.
- Identifying Workplace Misconduct: Explore the emotional, mental, and systemic contributors to unsafe cultures.
- Effective Interventions: Learn when and how to speak up, and the link between intervention and psychosocial safety.
- Becoming an Upstander : Align personal values with professional responsibilities to drive lasting cultural alignment.
